"My art is a collaboration - me in my creative open space engaging in all the beauty that is there to explore.
I am responding moment by moment to what moves me and open to seeing lots of variation - not limiting myself to a single path.
There is so much to seek out, from the minuscule to the majestic, and I want to see it all, soak it in, and then discover ways to capture that feeling in my paintings."
Allyson is an abstract artist and instructor living in Calgary.
She grew up in a small village in rural Alberta, and as far back as she can remember, has always been drawn to abstracts – the pictures, and the feelings they evoke are truly individual for each person.
Allyson has worked with many different art forms and mediums over the years – drawing, papermaking, bookbinding and lampworking - and always returns to painting abstracts with acrylics, and most recently alcohol inks.
